…meanwhile, back at the ranch
by Aisuru Rieko on Jun.14, 2008, under Uncategorized
real life rears its ugly head once again. great uncle is just about ready to take off again, I think this time it might stick. see, he’s found out that he will have to change his vehicle insurance if he stays here, and also change his drivers license, and he’s afraid they will test him if he tries. His implicit unstated fear I guess is that they will fail him and he won’t be able to drive. “I’ll drive ’till the day I die” he says. Unfortunately, that is quite likely. SO rather than address his actual concerns, he’s gathering up reasons in his own mind to leave in a huff, finding fault with everything so it gives him a convenient excuse to GTFO. it’s all quite silly, and I should hope when I’m 80-something I won’t be so deluded.
I have a job interview on Monday. it’s a couple hour drive, boo gas prices. I’m not sure about it but going to see is the only way i’ll know. The last place that wanted me, I wouldn’t even go interview-why drive for 5-6 hours when you KNOW you don’t want the job? I honestly don’t think anyone wants to pay me a good working wage. I don’t know what it is that makes people think you can be an adult and live without spousal support on 18K. This is why people I know who are in their damn 30’s have roommates. This area has no reason to be increasing the cost of living like they have been in the past few years, theres no reason to warrant it besides greed. People should wise up and say to themselves that if you have to have roommates & help with living expenses, might as well go find a real city to live in instead of a pretend one. ![]()

btw, great uncle is back. tee frickin hee, somebody stop this carousel so’s I can get off. did I mention that he’s decided to put me in the will? that greatest compliment (and most convenient lever) he can bestow. what is fucking rediculous-pardon my french-is that the 5% he’s assigned to me is more than I would have made in THREE YEARS of working. 5%. and this man is too chincy to feed himself properly because groceries are too expensive. he wanted to get meals on wheels. YOU’RE A MILLIONAIRE GRANDPA YOU DON’T NEED IT. so his latest objet’desire is a discount card to the state parks. he has the entire weekend to wait until he can get one on Monday. tsk. this fact will be mentioned roughly 1000 times to me over this weekend.

ok so I lied about making another post the same day. eh. you can sue me but I don’t got nuthin’. Great Uncle is gone (for now) wanted to take the RV and go around visiting. I’m sure he will be back because he is never happy in any situation for long.
So I post at the SLUniverse forums and the top poster there Joshua, was going to tear his store down & open again on a new sim. And he decided to blow up the old building! Ok… so it was more of a collapse.

dance party on the lawn

and it fell down.

dance party at new place! Sector 7 is the glowiest place I’ve seen! its a wonderland of glow effects. if you like futuristic stuff, or just want to be overwhelmed by teh glo, go to Sector 7 sim.

theres a reactor! and Joshua makes the coolest avatars, I got one that looks like a floating cube. and they have the COOLEST hud that makes little robot beeps. totally awesome stuff. Abstract Avatars
And they had the Halfway There fair this weekend & I went to that, Lordy what a lagfest. I think I crashed like 4 times. oh swells.

one of the smoothest ferris wheels I’ve been on.

I had to get all up in the tornado.

and the House of Horrors was pretty well done. I’m trying to look nonchalant, but i’m scared witless, trust me. I almost got eaten alive by Keeme Brown the Tyranosaurus but managed to escape with my life and my wig intact, even. But alas, no photos.
I like all of the creative & interesting events that have centered around Relay For Life within Second Life in my time there. It seems to be a cause that draws out a lot of creative & fun people. I hope people donate, because even a few $L add up when lots of people spend them.
More tomorrow because I am a sleepy girl.

Construction begins

I have a BUNCH of snaps and so I’ll probably break this up into a couple of posts today or maybe one today & one tomorrow. On the RL front I’ve sent off a bunch of resumes and stuff, got an unsolicited email from someplace but they want someone to run the press & I don’t have experience with that. *eh* The only other development is that my Great Uncle is here, I’m not sure if he’s moving in or if this is temporary. He can’t keep a decision made for more than a few days, he’s really not happy anywhere. He’s a hard man to please and he’s always thinking people are trying to rob him or cheat him. He told us just last night that he didn’t want to be treated like a child, when we said he should go take a shower. Take the hint dude! He doesn’t care about stuff like keeping clean & you can guess how that makes being around him. He gets annoyed with almost everything & he seems to relate mostly with stuff that happened back in the 30’s & 40’s. I really don’t understand it, he spent his whole life working, and scrimping, and he has a LOT of money put away to show for it (he loves to tell almost anyone about it too) but all that cash isn’t bringing him anything except for the pleasure he gets shifting his will around based on how nice people have been to him lately. I hope that if I live to his age I have more to do than toy with people and gripe about everything.
ANYWAY, they finally got my sim converted so I can start on my house again, I was really looking forward to it. So here come the pics!

When the converted it, this is how it looked for a few hours. all the land is under the water. cool.

This is my quarter after they raised the land & put some trees on.

I built a waterfall & stream coming down from the mountain to the pond.
I’m having a lot of fun building & after one false start I think I know what kind of structure I want & how I want it to look. It’s going to be pretty awesome, my only problem is that I like poofy things & scripted things and now that our sim is low prim its kind of affecting the lag factor.

I won a geisha skin from FallnAngel Creations so I had to take pictures. I bought some awesome dancing fans from there & I NEED to set up a dancing area at the hizzy, because I like dancing.
